~The Great Escape...~

"My time has come" said George, resting his head on the soft grass he was set upon, gazing up at the fluffy white clouds in the lovely carolina blue sky.
"NO!!" Screamed Star, as she ran over to him and nestled herself under one of George's front legs, beginning to cry "Not yet! I can't loose two daddy's..."
George said nothing, only licking her head and he rested once more. He almost didn't want to accept fate as he listened to the sweet young she-cat sob next to him.
Star was not really his daughter, but, ever since his mate Gem died, he saw the very same twinkle in her eye that Gem had, and she had the same beautiful blue eyes.
Star got up, and sat over him, blinking tears from her eyes. George watched as her mother, Gloria, ran over to her and began to gently cry on her daughter's shoulder.
He watched as his mate appeared from a cloud, and nuzzling him. As much as he knew it was going to hurt Star, and his birth son, Cloud, it was his time...
Time to make the Great Escape...."
